OC Young Actor’s Young Studio (OCYAS) offers creative and challenging classes, private coaching, mentoring, workshops, and intensives master training for Young and beginning actors.

Through its innovative approach to training actors, OC Young Actor’s Young Studio provide the community not only with an artistic gym for actors to exercise their instrument muscles, but also provides fresh creative faces.

Our students gain confidence in their social communication and collaboration skills. They, learn to access their emotions and imaginative life, discover the path toward character transformation, act with ease and authenticity, and are equipped and motivated to pursue acting as a profession or apply it to their professional and personal lives. OCYAS students are held to the highest professional standard, and should they choose to pursue it, receive recognition for their talents and commitment by booking TV/film/theatre and commercial venues as well as by creating their own creative opportunities.

It doesn’t matter not how old or young you are, what your experience is, what your life has been like. This school meets you where you are and helps you to grow to your potential and beyond. We serve adults and teens who desire to study the craft of acting and explore their own humanity through this awesome art form. We appeal to the longings for technique that will help the individual to reach his or her professional goals and dreams. We also provide service to business professionals, and non-actors who are seeking a creative outlet and new way to express themselves. We are an all-inclusive community that welcomes actors of all backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientation, age, and religions.

We service actors and non-actors alike, no matter their age. of all ages. Our teen curriculums are modeled on the level of skill and professionalism that we offer in our adult classes. They allreceive high quality training, no matter your training levels. All in all, the training is comprehensive, personal, and professional. 

What is your refund policy?

When you register for a class, you are making a commitment; therefore, there are no refunds or transfers once a student registers for classes. No exceptions. Without this policy, we cannot fairly offer classes, or mark classes “full;” we depend on a full commitment from registering students.

 

  1. Theatre Arts Camp (ages 7-12); (13-17)

Students are introduced to the theatre, where they may create characters using masks, costumes, make-up and props, using different perspectives in literature. Students will enjoy oral reading using expressive voices and gestures.  They are exposed to the several elements of the theatre: Theatre Makeup, Costumes, Scenery, Lighting, and Props.Outside work may be required.

Techniques include: Vocal and Physical Warm-ups; Improvisation; Cold Reading, theatre games & exercise.

4 instructional hours

  1. Improv 101 (ages 7-12); (13-17)

 

Students learn improvisation through exercises. That help to develop strong ensemble and character work.  Benefits includes, an improved stage presence as well as listening skills, self- confidence, good communication skills, critical thinking skills, and a respect for other performers and their creativity.

Techniques include: Vocal and Physical Warm-ups; Improvisation; theatre games & exercise.

III. Acting Workshops: Scene Study (ages 7-12); (13-17)

 

Students are exposed to scene study, in- depth script analysis, acting games and exercises, monologues, and technique used in the theater. They work in-depth with script analyst including character breakdown, to create strong choices as they are prepared for auditions. They will have fun letting their imagination soar. Some of their work includes, one prepared monologue critique. Out of class work with a partner may be required and a Course Workbook required.

Techniques includes; Vocal and Physical Warm-ups; Improvisation; Cold Reading Scene Study, Monologues, theatre games & exercise.
Students are exposed to scene study, script analysis, theatre games and exercises. They work as an in-depth script analyst including character breakdown to create strong choices as they are prepared for auditions. They will have fun letting their imagination soar.  There are times whereby Out of class work with a partner aremay be required.  Course Workbook is also required.

Techniques includes; Vocal and Physical Warm-ups; Improvisation; Cold Reading Scene Study, theatre games & exercise.
