III.  On Camera Acting Master Class for Actors (industry weekend intensive)

Students experience personal coaching in a smaller group of 1-5 students at a time.

We believe strongly in building a base of solid fundamentals, in both acting and camera technique. In each class, Scenes are blocked for the camera shots, Marks are given to actors, the scene is given a dress rehearsal for the cameras and then notes are given.  Each scene is then shot using 2 cameras, with student editing for playback and the end of each class for final critique.  Each week the actors are assigned a new scene that they must have fully structured and memorized and prepared for filming. They work as an in-depth script analyst including character breakdown, to create strong choices as they are prepared for auditions. Being prepared and knowing how to make strong character choices increases student’s confidence and allows their imagination to soar. They not only sharpen their audition skills, they learn how to take directions and adjustments. CLASS PLACEMENT AND ADVANCEMENT: Students must first train in the Beginning Level for 6 months, before becoming eligible to apply and audition for Intermediate. Intermediate students must train for 3 sessions before becoming eligible for the Advanced Level. Advanced students must have at least 1 session completed before being eligible for the Industry Weekend Intensive. When a student has considerable prior training and professional experience, they may audition to surpass the progression of classes. And only then, will they start with private coaching sessions to then audition again for master classes. The reason for this is extremely important. The Intermediate Class is a Scene Study course in which students are expected to understand system taught. Any student joining the class must be familiar with the process, the Intermediate Class requires rigorous rehearsal and preparation for each class session; therefore, we must prepare the student in the Beginning Classes, for the discipline required for Intermediate. Only by having a student in class (or privates) can we properly train him or her in the technique, and gauge their level of professionalism, commitment and discipline.
